Where Light Rests

These photographs began as simple observations of light — but over time, it was the shadows that stayed.

They move differently.

They stretch, repeat, and quietly reshape familiar places.

Often overlooked, they create patterns that exist only briefly, before shifting again.

Over time, these moments began to stand out — how shadow settles on walls, across paths, or along edges, giving structure to what might otherwise pass unnoticed.

In this series, colour falls away to allow that relationship to come forward.

Without it, attention shifts to form, contrast, and detail, and the presence of shadow becomes more apparent — almost holding the image together.

Some scenes are more defined, where shadow forms clear, graphic shapes.

Others remain softer, dissolving into landscape, air, or distance.

Together, they reflect a slower way of seeing —

one that lingers a little longer on what is usually secondary.

These are fragments gathered across different places and times,

connected by a shared quietness — where shadow and stillness

come to balance.
